    Every one of these tutorials gets this so incredibly wrong. I'm still amazed this one is being propogated like this.

    The focal plane is not a simple strip that you can place across an image and make it look realistic. This looks fake because the focal plane goes from front to back, not side to side.

    The top of the central structure should have the blur masked out. The two buildings on the sides should be blurred.

    Thanks for this! I've seen quite a few tutorials and they have not mentioned the curves, etc.
    I just couldn't quite get mine to look right... now I have better results.

    Nice tutorial :) I have owned a tilt/shift lens for a while but it´s not easy to use. I think it´s more fun to work with though but as Photoshop can simulate the effect it´s a great alternative.
